Meet the Nitro Swim School Management Team
At Nitro Swimming, learning to swim is about far more than technique. It is about building confidence, creating trust, and helping every swimmer feel safe and supported in the water.
Under the guidance of Head Coach and Co-Owner Mike Koleber, the Nitro Swim School Management Team helps oversee the day-to-day experience for swimmers, families, and instructors across the program. Their role is to support lesson quality, instructor development, swimmer progression, and the water safety standards families expect from Nitro.
For parents and guardians, choosing a swim school is ultimately a matter of trust. You want to know that your child will be taught by people who understand children, respect different comfort levels, and know how to build skills with patience and consistency.
Our Swim School Management Team brings hands-on experience working with children and adults at every stage of swimming. From nervous first-time swimmers to students ready for the next level, their focus is on creating a positive, encouraging environment where swimmers can grow at their own pace.

Kyle Finnie
Swim School Director
As the Swim School Director at Nitro Swimming, I get to do something I genuinely love every single day: help kids discover what they are capable of in the water. I joined Nitro right after earning my B.S. in Economics from Florida State University in 2021, and I have not looked back. Teaching swimming is not just a job to me. It is a life skill that opens doors, builds confidence, and keeps people safe for the rest of their lives.
I know that handing your child off to an instructor takes real trust, and I take that seriously. My approach is rooted in encouragement and patience. I want every child who steps onto our deck to feel seen, supported, and excited to be there. Whether I am working with a nervous beginner or helping a swimmer reach the next level, my focus is always on creating an environment where kids feel safe enough to try and proud when they succeed. The daily smiles, laughter, and breakthroughs our students have in the water are what fuel everything I do.
We also work with adults who are learning to swim or building on existing skills, and I bring the same care and respect to every adult lesson. Adults often arrive with anxiety or past experiences that made them feel like swimming was not for them.
My goal is to meet every swimmer exactly where they are and build from there at a pace that feels right, so that confidence in the water becomes something they carry with them for life.

Robert Weiss
Swim School Manager, Cedar Park
As the Swim School Manager at Nitro Swimming Cedar Park, I bring decades of hands-on experience in swimming instruction and water safety. I started here as a lessons instructor in 2014 and stepped into the manager role in 2018, which has given me the opportunity to work directly with swimmers of all ages while leading and developing our instructional team. Over the years I have helped thousands of children build confidence in the water, develop strong foundational skills, and learn how to stay safe.
I understand that choosing someone to teach your child how to swim is a decision built on trust. Safety is at the core of everything I do. As a USSSA Certified Fundamental Swim Instructor and American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, I am trained not only in teaching effective swim techniques but also in water safety, rescue skills, and emergency response. Every lesson is designed with structure, progression, and your child's well-being in mind.
My experience extends well beyond the pool. As a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and owner and operator of Lake Travis Scuba since 2007, I bring a deep, practical respect for the water to everything I teach. I also work regularly with adult learners, and I approach those lessons with the same care I give younger swimmers. Whether someone is five or fifty, my goal is the same: meet them where they are, build calm confidence, and give them skills that last a lifetime.
Originally from Cincinnati and a longtime Austin resident, I am passionate about sharing swimming as both a life skill and a source of real enjoyment.
My goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where every swimmer feels comfortable, capable, and proud of their progress. When your child is in the water with us, you can trust that their safety and growth are always the priority.
