What age can my child start swim lessons?

Nitro Swim School offers classes for children starting at 6 months old. Our Infant class is designed for babies 6 to 15 months and their caregivers, and we progress through Toddler (15 to 30 months), Pre-School (30 months to 4 years), and group lessons from age 3 and up. Adult lessons are also available by appointment.

How do I register?

Registration is done entirely online. Visit nitroswim.com, click Login/Register under the Swim School menu, create a free Family Account, add your swimmer, and browse available class times at your preferred location. Enrollment is open year-round and you can start at any time. If you have any questions along the way, our front desk team is happy to walk you through it.

Can I join mid-session?

Yes. Nitro does not operate on a traditional session model. When you enroll in a class time, that spot is yours on a recurring monthly basis until your swimmer graduates to the next level or your family decides to discontinue. If you sign up for Mondays at 4:30, that is your class every Monday at 4:30. There are no session end dates, no re-enrollment windows, and no gaps in between. You can start any time a spot is available.

How do I know which class is right for my child?

As a general guide: Infant (6 to 15 months), Toddler (15 to 30 months), and Pre-School (30 months to 4 years) are classes where a parent or guardian gets in the water with their child as an active part of the lesson. Nitro 1 is our independent beginner group lesson for ages 3 and up, and Nitro 2 is for ages 8 to 13 or recent Nitro 1 graduates. If you are ever unsure which level is the right fit, our front desk team is happy to help with placement before you enroll.

Is there a skills evaluation before starting?

For swim school classes, placement is primarily based on age and the descriptions on our Class Descriptions page at nitroswim.com/swim-school/class-descriptions/. If you have questions about whether Nitro 1 or Nitro 2 is the right fit, we recommend starting with Nitro 1 to build a confident foundation. For swim team placement, new athletes are invited to attend an evaluation with one of our USA Swimming coaches.

Is there a waitlist?

When a class fills up, families can join the waitlist at no cost. When a spot opens, the next person on the list is notified and given 24 hours to claim it. If no response is received within that window, the spot moves to the next family in line. We recommend joining the waitlist even if your preferred time is full, as spots open regularly.

Do you offer classes at all three locations?

Yes. Swim school classes are available at Nitro Cedar Park, Nitro Bee Cave, and Nitro Kyle. Class availability varies by location and time of year. You can view current openings by logging into the registration portal at your preferred location.

How often are classes held?

Swim school classes meet once per week. Each class is 30 minutes long for group lessons (Infant through Nitro 2). Adult lessons are 45 minutes.

What if we have to miss a class?

If you know you will miss a class, please report your absence at least one hour before your scheduled class time. This releases your spot so another family can book in. Once the class you missed has taken place, the system will automatically generate a makeup token in your account as long as the absence was reported on time.

How does the makeup token system work?

Makeup tokens are generated automatically after a reported absence once the missed class has occurred. Each token is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued. You can use your token to book into any open class spot at your level that fits your schedule at your home Nitro location. Tokens expire after 30 days and cannot be extended.

What happens if I don’t report my absence in advance?

If an absence is not reported at least one hour before class, a makeup token will not be generated. We ask that absences be reported in advance so we can open the spot for other families on the waitlist and keep our class sizes accurate.

Can I change my class day or time?

Yes. Schedule changes can be made through the Nitro App or the Customer Portal, subject to availability. If you need any help or guidance finding a new time that works, just give your location a call and our front desk team will take care of you.

How does pricing work?

Nitro charges monthly tuition based on the number of classes that occur in a given month. There are no contracts and no annual commitments beyond an annual registration fee.

What does tuition cost?

Pricing varies by class type. As a general guide, Infant, Toddler, and Pre-School classes start at approximately $25 per class. Group lessons (Nitro 1 and Nitro 2) are approximately $30 per class. Adult lessons are approximately $35 per class. Because billing is based on the number of classes in a given month, your monthly total will vary slightly depending on the calendar. Contact your preferred location for current pricing.

Yes. Nitro uses automatic billing. A credit card authorization is kept on file and drafted on the 20th of each month. You will not need to manually pay each month.

Are there any additional fees?

There is a $40 annual registration fee due at enrollment and every 12 months thereafter. If you withdraw and return within 12 months of your last registration payment, no additional fee is required. If it has been more than 12 months, the $40 annual fee will apply again upon re-enrollment.

What is the cancellation policy?

To stop lessons, families must submit a drop through their online account or the Nitro App by the 15th of the month to avoid being billed for the following month. For example, if you wish to stop lessons at the end of December, your drop must be submitted by December 15th. Please note that drops must be submitted by the family directly through their account. Our front desk team is unable to process drops on your behalf.

Can I pause my enrollment instead of withdrawing?

Nitro does not offer a formal pause option. If you need to step away for an extended period, we recommend withdrawing and re-enrolling when you are ready to return. Re-enrollment is straightforward and your swimmer’s progress history is retained.

Each class includes time in the water with direct instruction, guided practice, and positive reinforcement. For our youngest levels, caregivers participate in the water alongside their child.

This can happen at any point during the year. What should my child wear to lessons?

Swimmers should wear a well-fitting swimsuit. Goggles are recommended and are available for purchase at the front desk. All girls are required to wear a swim cap during class. Boys with hair that falls over their eyes or past their mouth during side breathing are also required to wear a cap. Caps are available at the front desk.

Yes. All swimmers who are not yet fully potty trained are required to wear a Happy Nappy Duo reusable swim diaper in the pool. Happy Nappy Duo diapers are available for purchase at the front desk.

A swimsuit, towel, and goggles are the basics. If your swimmer requires a swim diaper, please make sure to bring a Happy Nappy Duo. Swim caps are not required but are welcome, and are available for purchase at the front desk if you’d like one.

We ask that swimmers who are sick or showing symptoms stay home to protect the health of other students and instructors. If your swimmer needs to miss class due to illness, report the absence through the app at least one hour before class to receive a makeup token.

Nitro’s pools are grounded and protected from lightning surges and all three locations remain open during inclement weather unless conditions require a closure. In the event of a tornado warning, swimmers and families will exit the pool and shelter in the interior changing rooms until conditions are safe. Any closures will be communicated via email and social media.

Can I transfer to a different Nitro location?

Yes. If you need to switch to a different location, contact the front desk at your current location and they will help facilitate the transfer based on class availability at your preferred new location.

How do I withdraw from lessons?

Withdrawals are processed through the Nitro App or the Customer Portal. Withdrawal requests must be submitted by the 15th of the month to avoid being charged for the following month.

How do I re-enroll after withdrawing?

Re-enrollment can be done online through the registration portal. If it has been more than 12 months since your last annual registration payment, the $40 annual fee will apply upon re-enrollment. If you are returning within that 12-month window, no additional fee is required. Your swimmer’s history and progress are retained.
