First Round of 2013 – 2014 Nitro Student Athletes College Committments

Huge congratulations to Sydney Tan and the entire Tan family and Sydney committed to be a student-athlete at the University of Pennsylvania! Sydney is the first ever Nitro swimmer to head to this prestigious Ivy League school. Sydney did a super job travelling all over the country on her recruiting trips before selecting U Penn and we could not be any more happy for and proud of her. Way to start this year’s signing class off!

Big congratulations to Abby Artmann and the Artmann family on Abby’s commitment to be a student-athlete at Duke University! Abby is our first ever Nitro swimmer to head to Duke and as we all know incredible academics and also a great coach with a rising team in the ACC! Abby did a super job on the recruiting process starting very early and taking trips all over the nation before deciding on Duke yesterday. We could not be more happy for the Artmann family and proud of Abby…Go Blue Devils!

Congratulations to Zach Thomas on his commitment to be a student-athlete at Columbia University! Zach did an unbelievably thorough job on his recruiting process—he really worked hard and travelled all over before deciding to become a Lion at Columbia…and what an outstanding choice! Nitro could not be an happier for and proud of Zach as he is a true embodiment of the phrase student-athlete and as all our swimmers know—Zach is one of our hardest workers and just a great teammate to all. Congrats again to Zach and the Thomas family and personally as a New Yorker myself I am really happy to see one of our swimmers in the Big Apple:)

Seth Timmons committed to be a student-athlete at Oakland University! We could not be any happier for Seth and his family and as most know…Seth is following some big footsteps in the fact that Coach Mike and Coach Scott Yarbrough both swam at Oakland for the current Coach Pete Hovland and Coach Chuck coached at OU as well. Seth is our first Nitro swimmer ever to become a student-athlete at Oakland and demonstrating his balance in and out of the pool—Seth was a USA Swimming Scholastic All American this past year as well. Great choice, very well earned by Seth in the classroom and in the pool and we are all Grizzly fans now!

Samantha Sutton kept the great news rolling by visiting and then committing to be a student-athlete at the University of Texas! Sam did a super job on her process travelling all over the country before deciding to become a Longhorn at UT. Coach Carol and Coach Roric at UT have the team swimming fast, ranked in the Top 10 all while placing a huge emphasis on both academics and TEAM…the way it should be. Huge congrats to Sam and the Sutton family and very well earned by Sam both in and out of the pool as she too was a USA Swimming Scholastic All American! Sam joins Nitro alums Matt Ellis and Will Licon who are currently Longhorns thus making us Longhorn swim fans
