Santa Clara Grand Prix ( from Coach Tim ):

Trip Recap:
Team Nitro arrived on Weds and had lunch in Santa Cruz as traffic held us off on our Pebble Beach dinner. Team warm up at Santa Clara and then a grocery shop before heading to team hotel.
Normal prelims/ finals meet Thurs- Sunday. Great interaction with the top swimmers in the world like Michael Phelps, Missy Franklin and the many, many other world ranked swimmers in the meet.
Due to the Grand Prix status of this meet…all of our swimmers received a free hi tech suit. Not always the norm…but a nice perk this meet!
Sunday night after finals—awesome TEAM dinner at Claim Jumpers…with many appetizers and dessert paid for by a very generous Coach Paul!
Monday involved campus tours at Stanford and Cal. The Stanford men’s head Coach Ted Knapp and Women’s Head Coach Greg Meehan each took time to speak to our team as well as have a Q&A session. At Cal our campus tour was given by Cal Asst Coach ( and former Coach of Katie Ladecky ) Yuri Surigama. Incredible stuff both the tours of these incredible universities as well as the coach interaction.
Great leadership by our college swimmers on the trip in Matt Ellis, Cole Hurwitz and William Licon and that was VERY much appreciated by the coaches and swimmers!
Thanks to all our parents for supporting this trip and making it happen. Thanks to all our parents in attendance for their logistical help. and a HUGE THANKS to Coach Paul! What an amazing addition to our staff he has been and his energy and enthusiasm permeates through the swimmers and his passion ignites all! He was an amazing coach and shuttle driver on this one!
Two amazing trips and thanks to all who helped make possible including Coach Mike and Tracy Koleber who do much behind the scenes to help make these possible!
