Intro to Nitro
Cedar Park: Arsh Gupta – Arsh did fantastic work on our backstroke drills this week, on top of having a very successful Saturday Nitro at the Races meet. Job well done, Arsh! – Coach Kristyn
Bee Cave: Faith Richmond – She has been working really hard in order to move up to bronze and it showed this week when we did the test set. – Coach Meghan
Bronze
Cedar Park: Peyton Molacek – This week she has shown great concentration while executing the skills we were working on. You could see her thinking about everything thing that we would tell her from tighter streamline to where her eyes should be looking when she is doing a turn. Congratulations and keep up the good work. – Coach Travis
Bee Cave: Camryn Thigpen – Camryn has really made great adjustments to her mechanics in the pool. She is always laughing and giggling at Coach Adrian’s awful jokes. She brings a great energy to the pool day in and day out. Way to go Camryn! – Coach Adrian
Technique & Fitness
Cedar Park: Chiara Wallace & Devin Jones – These two really made the coaches notice their practice time in the pool. Underwater streamlines looked great as well as their diving. Going off the starting blocks can be a challenge for some swimmers but these two stepped up and after some trepidation they rocked it. Great job you two thanks for being a part of NITRO and we’ll see you at the pool. – Coach Steve
Bee Cave: Everest Maher – Everest is new with Nitro, coming from Circle C. In his first two weeks he has been a leader for the group and displays a great attitude. Always anxious to learn and improve every practice. – Coach Clayton
Silver
Cedar Park: Robert Graves – Robby has a tremendous heart and work ethic. There’s rarely a day that Robby comes in tired or wanting to take things easy, the longer the set the happier he is. This week Robby really started to focus some of his tremendous energy on the technique of his weaker strokes and it showed in some tremendous improvements to his butterfly and freestyle. Keep up the great work Robby! – Coach Dakota
Bee Cave: Jack Finnegan – Every now and then a swimmer starts to believe in their ability, as a coach you can see the talent, you prompt the swimmer, but it still takes an awareness from inside that swimmer to light the fire, Jack has been on fire the past few days, he has challenged every set and when it’s time to sprint no one in the group is faster. I really believe Jack is going to surprise people this spring. – Coach Chuck
Advanced Silver
Cedar Park: Jacob Worley – Jacob has been doing an exceptional job with warmup this past week. He attacked our descending 50s set and led the lane every day. We have been very impressed with Jacob’s attitude and intensity throughout the week. Let’s keep it up, Jacob! – Coach Alex
Bee Cave: Katie Tuohy– Katie (as well as her brother Owen) arrive(s) at practice ready to roll every day. She is one of the recognized leaders in the group, and is a joy to coach. She gives all she can and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for her! Coach Mike.
Gold
Cedar Park: Karsten Olsen – Karsten has been working hard since he moved up into Gold. He had an amazing meet this weekend at BB champs. He managed to pick up 6 new A times. Congratulations and keep up the hard work. – Coach Travis
Bee Cave: Lane Elizondo – Lane has really stepped it up over the last month in his training. He has begun training at faster base intervals and good stroke technique has started to go from something we are working on to becoming a habit. This weekend at BB Champs his hard work has started to pay off. He earned several “A” times and his first TAGS cut with some aggressive, exciting swims. He still has some things to work on but now has some intense positive momentum behind him. – Coach Hannah
