Intro to Nitro
Cedar Park: Tristan Chang – Tristan has been working hard ever since he joined Intro last Fall. He consistently attends practices and listens to the coaches. This week we had a test set for the group and Tristan embraced the challenge. He gave 100% effort the entire practice! The coaches could see a notable improvement in his strokes & technique – all that hard work is paying off! He’s becoming a very strong swimmer! Great job, Tristan! – Coach Jessie
Bee Cave: Alex & Charlotte Sturtevant – Alex and Charlotte always come to practice full of excitement and eager to learn! I love how much they are able to focus on the little things for their strokes, they never miss the tiny details! We did a few new things this week and they were both ready to try and try again if they didn’t get it the first time. Great job this week girls! Keep working hard! – Coach Meghan
Bronze
Cedar Park: Esteban Martinez – Esteban has been working extremely6 hard on his butterfly. He swam the 100 butterfly at the swim meet and not only did he drop a lot of time he did his underwater kicks off every wall. I love his attitude in practice and his eagerness to try new things and make changes. – Coach Jeremy
Bee Cave: Claire Wernli – Claire has really impressed me lately with her work ethic. She comes to practice every day with a smile, ready to work hard, she listens to corrections and makes adjustments immediately. This has really paid off in her Breaststroke lately and she is making big strides in it. She had a great swim this weekend in her 100 Breaststroke and I am super proud of her. Great job Claire! Keep up the hard work! – Coach Jared
Technique & Fitness
Cedar Park: Hannah Booth & Travis Wiere – These two swimmers have been with NITRO for some time and always show the groups how to lead their lanes, watch the clocks, pay attention, ask questions when needed, demonstrate for the groups when needed and more importantly have an all around awesome positive attitude that they bring to the NITRO family. Thanks for being a part of NITRO and we’ll see you at the pool. – Coach Steve
Bee Cave: Grant Miller – Grant has been diligently working at every practice for quite a while now. But this week, something was super special! He just had it all together, and it showed in his strokes. It was IM week, and he was on top of everything! He shared he was going great in school etc… since he was focusing, listening, etc… That translated over into swimming and Coach Tanner and I could see what a focused swimmer can do! Keep up the great work! – Coach Linda
Silver
Cedar Park: Akshaya Kannan – Akshaya is one of those coachable swimmers. She does a wonderful job of listening to instruction and making the instruction meaningful to her stroke correction. Akshaya has some of the best IM transition turns throughout all of Silver. I often use her as an example of quick in and out of the wall as well as using her underwaters to get her as far and as quick as possible to her breakouts (with no breathing!). Keep being that coachable swimmer, Akshaya! – Coach Allison
Bee Cave: Jared Guerra – I had the privilege of watching Jared swim this weekend, smart, sharp, racing every stroke, the turns were approached with a large kick, underwaters were pushed just right, and the results were a testimony of how hard Jared has been working, dropping 4.3 seconds in the 50 free, 2.2 seconds in the 50 back, then 10.78 seconds in the 100 IM, not finished, Jared jumps into the 100 free and sets his best race ever by 12.25 seconds making four National B time standards! That’s a pretty good 3 hours worth of work, well done young man, Great Job! – Coach Chuck
Advanced Silver
Cedar Park: Cole Harris – There are a lot of fast swimmers in the group, but nobody has made as much progress in such little time as Cole. His great attendance and better work ethic has led him down a path of success, and his hard work definitely paid off at the Cupid Splash meet on Saturday. Get this swimmer some high-fives! –Coach Alex
Bee Cave: Knox Alvarez – This was a magic week for Knox. He really shined and took total control in practice, showing great leadership in his performance and experiencing what is to be a lane captain. Great work Knox and keep it up. This is a great season start and hopefully it is a great indicator of even better things to come. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS..SI SI SI!!! – Coach Felix
Gold
Cedar Park: Yeraldin Ruiz – She has been working very hard in practice for a while now. This weekend she got to see that work pay off when she had some fantastic swims. He precision and focus when executing her drills and strokes are a joy to watch. Congratulations and keep up the great work. – Coach Travis
Bee Cave: Kira Baker – Kira has hit the ground running at the tail end of this season. She had a break out meet at Bee Cave with having attained three A Times in the 100 BR, 50 BR and 50 Fly. It was such a joy to witness Kira break through like she did. She swam her races with intensity that was unmatched. Great job Kira, keep up the great work. – Coach Adrian
