Nitro Swimmer of the Week for August 17th – 22nd, 2015

Intro to Nitro

Cedar Park: Hayden Hannan – Hayden has been working extra hard in Intro practices lately! She frequently asks what she can improve on and is putting in a lot of effort in the water! Keep up the great work, Hayden! – Coach Jessie

Bee Cave: Kyle Lee – Kyle has done a great job of improving on the little things the past couple weeks. He has done his best to pay attention and listen. He does all of that AND has a big smile on his face the whole practice. It is a privilege to coach you Kyle! Good job and keep it up. – Coach Sarah

Bronze

Cedar Park: Declan Graves – Declan had a great week! The Bronze group worked extremely hard on their butterfly. Declan not only improved on his recovery of the stroke, but also improved on his push-offs and underwater kicking! Great job Declan! –Coach Jeremy

Bee Cave: Owen Crowns – Owen really impresses me with his kicking effort, legs are what make the swimmer push to the next level of swimming, While working on a flutter kick set it was great to see Owen’s speed and how well he could flex his ankles, but better still was how he kept that same speed on his feet going when we switched into dolphin kick. On a kick board or withoit Owen really trains the body wave! Great Job Young Man!! Coach Chuck

Technique & Fitness

Cedar Park: Chiara Wallace & Cooper Price – Chiara did an incredible job with her head position and quick breathing technique in the freestyle drill we did this past week. Great fast kicking as well. Cooper. …..Cooper what can I say but what a great athlete to add to the NITRO roster.  He always has the best attitude and positive personality that completely adds to the group. In addition to that he has an awesome freestyle reach with his freestyle catch. Great job you two thanks for being a part of NITRO and we’ll see you at the pool. – Coach Steve

Bee Cave: Winter Rhoden – Winter is one of many TF swimmers that could earn SOW every week. She works hard and is incredibly kind to boot. This award is long overdue for Winter. Great job! – Coach Peter

Silver

Cedar Park: Tamara Rhodes – Tamara is one of those special swimmers that makes the effort to come to practice when she can, and give it her all. She never forgets to thank the coaches after practice and is a joy to work with. She has been catching on to the main focus of each practice really quickly, and often is used as a demonstration during practice. I have no doubt that she will continue to give it her all in each practice and work to the top! – Coach Allison

Bee Cave: Zane Yacoub – This young man has come on fire, great walls, RED ZONES that are the standard of the group, plus Zane lives for which ever stroke he happens to be doing at the time! Take a note Gold and Senior, Zane focuses on the now, how am I making my stroke better today. I never hear a grunt or groan out of this young man when it comes to training, except when he finishes a timed swim! Great Job Zane! –Coach Chuck

Advanced Silver

Cedar Park: (No entry submitted)

Bee Cave: Alexander Williamson – Alex has definitely separated himself from the pack. So much so that I made the decision to give him the green light to make the move to the next group on the Nitro ladder. He has a tremendous ability to focus on the tasks at hand, make corrections, and push himself beyond what most others can do at this age. He definitely caught my attention and is on my radar for the future! Coach Mike.

Gold

Cedar Park: Alex Hoang – Alex really rocked it last week churning up the water especially with his butterfly. Streamlines looked good as well as all of his starts and finishes. His recovery on his breathing is fast and immediate. Great job and thanks for being a part of the NITRO family. Thanks for putting that little “extra” into extraordinary. – Coach Stephen

Bee Cave: Harvey Li – Harvey has been so much fun to work with. He has that high energy and you can tell he loves coming to practice. He is close friends with many of the boys on the team, but does a great job of being a team mate to all. I have no doubt that through out the next few weeks, as I get to know Harvey and his swimming he will impress me more and more each day.  – Coach Allison
